Tom Stempel

Born and raised in Hawai'i, Tom Stempel began his glass training at the University of Hawai'i and continued his education working in four studios across Honolulu. He later collaborated with prominent artists in Seattle, including Dale Chihuly.

Stempel has completed numerous significant installations throughout the Seattle area, ranging from historically significant residences and contemporary homes to well-known coffeehouses and commercial spaces. He recently relocated his stained-glass shop and glassblowing studio to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he continues to expand his creative practice.

Drawing inspiration from his life in Hawai'i and his travels across Europe, Asia, and Alaska, Stempel integrates metal and glass in large-scale works that balance traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. His portfolio includes site-specific lighting, architectural windows, and custom murals for both residential and commercial environments. His blown glass vessels are now featured at Liquid Light Glass.
