Lois Manno

Lois Manno has been a professional artist and author for over 30 years. While attending college in Texas, she studied drawing and painting and went on to illustrate books for numerous publishers. She began working in kiln- formed glass after taking a workshop at Bullseye Glass Company. Further training in coldworking techniques and special effects in glass expanded her skill set.

Over time, Lois developed several techniques unique to her practice, creating three-dimensional sculptural glass objects without the use of molds. Using kiln-fired colored glass powders, she produces work inspired by the natural world- feathers, the sky, birds, and other organic forms.

As a result of her hard work, she invented Modeling Glass, a product now available worldwide. She is also an author and educator who has been teaching Modeling Glass workshops across the country since 2018. Lois currently lives and works in her studio in Sandia Park, New Mexico. Her work is held in numerous private collections and has been exhibited nationally.
